Costa Rican Actress Mariluz Bermúdez Celebrates New Role as Goodwill Ambassador and Advocate for Unspoken Smiles.

Feb 17, 2023

Continuing in her drive to give back, Mariluz Bermúdez, known for her roles in the telenovelas is now officially appointed as the first celebrity woman and ambassador for Unspoken Smiles, a testament to her commitment to social causes.

New York City, New York Feb 16, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - The burden of #OralDisease is at an alarming all-time high and requires urgent action. Responding to the growing demand for effective global oral health strategies, Unspoken Smiles- a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the oral health and self-esteem of underprivileged children and young adults is working to solve this critical global issue. With a mission to build happy smiles in communities where young people are least likely to receive the dental care they need, Unspoken Smiles is proud to introduce Mariluz Bermúdez, a well-known Costa Rican television actress and model, as their first celebrity woman ambassador dedicated to raising awareness and promote the importance of oral health in Latin America and the Caribbean regions.

Unspoken Smiles is a global movement that connects like-minded people worldwide to provide care and education to inspire more young people to smile. Mariluz Bermúdez has always been a woman who dedicates her time and energy to helping others. In this new commitment, Mariluz Bermúdez is honored to be the face of Unspoken Smiles to spread awareness about the serious issue of poor oral health for children in her native country.

"We are delighted to welcome Mariluz Bermúdez as our new ambassador and advocate for Unspoken Smiles. Her passion for children and the mission of Unspoken Smiles, to put a smile on every child in need, makes her a perfect fit for the entire LATAM region and Unspoken Smiles representative to the United Nations. She brings infectious energy and passion to our mission, and we are confident her support will help us reach even more young people in need. We are very excited about the advocacy work she will do on our behalf, spreading the word about the importance of oral health and dental hygiene that many families around the Americas often neglect."-said Jean-Paul Laurent, the founder, and CEO of Unspoken Smiles.

As a Goodwill Ambassador & Advocate for Latin America and the Caribbean Region, Bermúdez will work closely with Unspoken Smiles' team to develop and implement programs that promote oral health education, prevention, and treatment in Costa Rica.

When asked about the cause of joining Unspoken Smiles, Mariluz Bermúdez said, "Everyone deserves access to quality dental care, regardless of their socio-economic status. I believe that together, we can make a significant impact and improve the lives of countless children and families and get them healthy smiles and a healthier life. Through my work with Unspoken Smiles, I hope to inspire young women and children to take control of their oral health and to help break down the barriers that prevent access to affordable dental care."

The appointment of Mariluz is timely because starting next month Unspoken Smiles is planning to open the world's first fully preventative community dental clinic in San Jose, Costa Rica. As a result, 365,799 people currently living in San Jose, which is roughly a third of Costa Rica's total population, will now be able to get universal access to preventative dental care and avoid painful and costly procedures which can have a tremendous impact on their overall health.

Chip foundries better insulated in an AI slowdown than Asia-Pacific tech peers, S&P says

As market fears mount over waning Big Tech spending and calls to slow down frontier artificial intelligence development, Asia-Pacific semiconductor foundries are better positioned to withstand a potential downturn in AI investment than other tech hardware firms in the region, according to S&P Global Ratings. In a report published on Thursday, the rating agency said it had stress tested four key Asia-Pacific sectors – foundries, memory manufacturers, cooling component suppliers and original...

How we use AI to turn one article into audience-specific versions

A founder may want the main business argument. A marketing lead may care about campaign angles. A sales lead may look for customer objections. A busy operator may only want the practical steps. The core idea can be the same, but the way it is framed often needs to change. That was the problem we […] The post How we use AI to turn one article into audience-specific versions appeared first on e27.

GSMA says smartphone costs could deepen the coming AI divide

The global rush to build artificial intelligence may be making the basic gateway to the internet more expensive for the people who need it most. That is the uncomfortable warning from the GSMA’s State of Mobile Internet Connectivity Report 2026, released in Hong Kong on September 18. The industry body, which represents mobile operators and […] The post GSMA says smartphone costs could deepen the coming AI divide appeared first on e27.

How to read a VAPT report without panicking

I’ve watched the same movie play out too many times: a management team receives a penetration testing report, sees a wall of findings with scary-sounding names, and immediately assumes their platform is on fire. It’s not on fire. It’s almost never on fire. But the report sure makes it look like it is. And that’s […] The post How to read a VAPT report without panicking appeared first on e27.

The AI economy is quietly exposing what organisations truly value about humans

For most of my career, I believed professional value followed a relatively stable equation. The more capable you became, the more valuable you became. That assumption shaped how many of us approached work, leadership, and identity itself. We invested years building expertise because expertise carried weight. We learned to execute reliably because reliability created trust. […] The post The AI economy is quietly exposing what organisations truly value about humans appeared first on e27.

China to see major shift to Huawei for AI model training in 2027: deputy chair

Huawei Technologies expects a major domestic shift towards its artificial intelligence computing infrastructure for model training next year, as its Ascend processors gain ground on Nvidia in China despite supply constraints, according to rotating chairman Eric Xu Zhijun. “I believe that starting from next year, a lot of the AI model training will be based on the SuperPoD or SuperCluster based on Ascend 950DT,” Xu told reporters during the Huawei Connect 2026 conference in Shanghai on...
