Based on his own experience living on a farm, Robert Butters has put together a series of stories based on animal living. Written with the belief that animals "help kids become more compassionate", he's looking to bring a little bit of that farm living into readers' homes.
"Down on the Farm" gives voice to the flock on the Butters farm, following the day-to-day life of a group of roosters and hens living on the land (as well as one talkative cat). Readers get a glimpse at how they spend their mornings, how they beat the heat, and how they have fun on a gloomy day.
