About Asean Coverage

News from Southeast Asia, in five sections and seven country tags.

Asean Coverage reports news from Southeast Asia in five sections, each on its own site: finance, technology, entertainment, sports and culture. The main site, aseancoverage.com, brings the five together and shows them country by country.

The five sections

  • Finance: Markets, the economy and business across Southeast Asia.
  • Technology: AI, start-ups, energy and the devices people use, across Southeast Asia.
  • Entertainment: Film, drama, music and games from Southeast Asia.
  • Sports: Football, badminton, basketball, esports and more from Southeast Asia.
  • Culture: Festivals, food, travel, lifestyle and heritage across Southeast Asia.

The countries we cover

Every story is tagged with the one or two countries it is mainly about:

How the stories are made

Each story starts from a report, an announcement or a press release that a news organisation, a company or a public body has already published. Some of those sources are written in Indonesian, Malay, Thai or Vietnamese. Our stories are always written in English, and every story names its source and links to it. The editorial policy explains the checks each story passes before it is published.

Who writes the stories

Every story carries the name of a member of the Asean Coverage editorial team. Meet them on the team page.

What Asean Coverage is not

  • It is not investment advice. Stories report what a source said. They do not tell you what to buy or sell.
  • It does not publish opinion or commentary.
