Ashtine Olviga and David Licauco will star in the Philippine version of the South Korean drama “Fight for My Way”, scheduled to debut on Viva One on Nov. 20. At a press conference, the actors said they would develop their chemistry as a new screen pairing.

Licauco plays Hanz, an aspiring professional fighter, while Olviga portrays Aira, whose ambition is to become a television announcer. Financial difficulties and family responsibilities interrupt their plans, but the friends help one another return to their goals and grow closer.

Olviga previously worked opposite Andres Muhlach, while Licauco has starred alongside Barbie Forteza. Addressing their established screen partnerships, Olviga said acting required them to work with different performers.

Licauco said he felt pressure taking on a role originally played by Park Seo-joon, whom he considers an idol. He planned to study the Korean actor’s performance without copying it entirely, while bringing his own interpretation to the character.

Director Crisanto Aquino said the adaptation would preserve the original story while adding Filipino cultural elements, food and locations. McCoy de Leon and Aubrey Caraan also feature in the cast.
