BINI and SB19 seek nominations for 2027 Grammys
Both P-pop groups are pursuing the new Asian Pop Music Performance category, while BINI is also seeking Best New Artist recognition.

Philippine P-pop acts BINI and SB19 have begun promoting their submissions for the 69th Grammy Awards, with nomination voting under way. The groups have shared “For Your Consideration” posts outlining the categories they are entering; nominees have yet to be announced.
For Asian Pop Music Performance, BINI has submitted “Unang Kilig” and SB19 has entered “Visa”. SB19 is also seeking Pop Duo/Group Performance recognition for “Lawless”, its only other submission. BINI’s entries include “A Parallel World”, a track from “Forgotten Island”, for Best Song Written for Visual Media, alongside a bid for Best New Artist.
Asian Pop Music Performance is among five categories being added for the 2027 ceremony. Some industry leaders have criticised it, arguing that it restricts recognition for Asian artists and excludes them from major categories. The Recording Academy retained the category following weeks of deliberation.
Active Recording Academy members can vote in the first round until October 22. The eligibility period covers music released from August 31, 2025 to August 28, 2026. Nominations are due on November 16, with the awards ceremony scheduled for February 7, 2027.
