Kobie Brown’s role in GMA Afternoon Prime’s “Born to Shine” has been made permanent, according to a report by Nelson Canlas on “24 Oras”. Brown said the decision surprised him because his involvement was initially supposed to last six weeks.

Brown said he now expected to remain until the series ends. In the show, he belongs to 5 in 1, a fictional P-pop group whose other members are played by Josh Ford, Lee Victor, Dom Pangilinan and Andre Fajardo.

Describing dancing as his biggest weakness, Brown said he was taking extra dance workshops and watching other P-pop groups perform. He was also observing their behaviour offstage to better understand being part of the P-pop scene.

Brown also recalled a birthday surprise during filming. After initially feeling that his castmates were ignoring him, they presented him with a cake before the lunch break. He said he appreciated their gesture despite the busy filming schedule.

Brown joined Sparkle GMA Artist Center in May. “Born to Shine” is broadcast at 2:30 pm from Monday to Saturday on GMA Afternoon Prime.
