Mark Tuan releases ‘NIGHTLIGHT’ featuring Thai artist MILLI
MILLI contributes a verse in Thai and English to the GOT7 member’s second single from his forthcoming album.
GOT7 member Mark Tuan has released ‘NIGHTLIGHT’, an alternative pop collaboration with Thai artist MILLI. The track arrived on 2 October through Transparent Arts and DNA, becoming the second single from his upcoming album after ‘Alone’.
The song was written while Tuan was visiting Nashville and combines his singing and rapping. Its themes include attraction, curiosity and pursuing what one wants, while MILLI’s contribution moves between Thai and English.
Tuan said requests from fans for more rap encouraged him to explore that part of his performance during the Nashville session. He wanted the new single to take a more open and playful direction than ‘Alone’, which he described as introspective and centred on feeling closed off.
Guest performers have appeared relatively rarely in Tuan’s solo work. He said MILLI’s verse differed from his expectations and prompted fresh musical and visual ideas. He also credited the combination of languages with helping them create something neither artist would have made independently.
