Malaysian ticket sales for Indonesian horror remake Munafik: Melawan Iblis reached RM2 million during its first six days in cinemas. Executive producer Datuk Yusof Haslam welcomed the opening performance and thanked audiences for supporting the film.

Yusof said the response would spur further marketing and promotional work to reach more viewers across Malaysia. The production brings together Unlimited Production and Skop Productions, with Guntur Soeharjanto directing.

Producer Oswin Bonifanz, who is also a director of Unlimited Production, said his interest in the original Munafik led to the adaptation. Discussions began around 2023, followed by the acquisition of rights and work on a version shaped by Indonesian culture. He said the aim was to offer an Indonesian interpretation, rather than compete with the Malaysian film.

Arya Saloka plays Ustaz Adam, a ruqyah practitioner who withdraws from helping people affected by supernatural disturbances after a family tragedy. His attempt to live quietly is disrupted when his neighbour Fitri, portrayed by Acha Septriasa, experiences unexplained events.
