Vienna Chamber Orchestra to mark 80th anniversary with Vietnam concerts
The Vienna Concert 2026 will bring Alma Deutscher, Adrian Eröd and Nadezhda Karyazina to Ho Guom Opera House on November 7 and 8.

Austria’s Vienna Chamber Orchestra will give two performances in Vietnam on November 7 and 8, celebrating 80 years since its founding. Ho Guom Opera House will host the programme, billed as The Vienna Concert 2026.
Joining the ensemble are Alma Deutscher, whose roles span composition, piano and conducting, baritone Adrian Eröd and mezzo-soprano Nadezhda Karyazina. For Deutscher’s Ludwig Waltz No. 1, she will take both the piano and conducting roles. Her Impromptu for Orchestra in B Major is also scheduled.
The November 7 repertoire pairs Beethoven’s Symphony No. 8 with Schubert’s Symphony No. 4, the Tragic Symphony. Eröd and Karyazina will perform opera selections by Bizet, Johann Strauss II, Tchaikovsky, Wagner and Rossini.
Vienna’s musical heritage provides the focus for November 8. The programme includes Mozart’s Jupiter Symphony, his Symphony No. 41, and the Don Giovanni overture, alongside Johann Strauss II’s Kaiser-Walzer, or Emperor Waltz. Deutscher’s Siren Sounds Waltz and Grinzinger Polka are also on the bill, with opera excerpts by Mozart and Franz Lehár completing the evening.
Established in 1946, the orchestra has performed across Europe, Asia and elsewhere. Its return follows appearances in Vietnam in 2024 and 2025, making this its third visit in successive years.
