Mapletree has temporarily restricted outdoor events at Singapore’s Tanjong Pagar Distripark that could disturb nearby residents, following noise complaints. The management company confirmed the pause in a statement on 30 October, with no date announced for events to resume.

The restrictions affect Ice Cream Sundays (ICS), an electronic music event run by independent collective Cream Team. In an Instagram statement on 28 October, ICS said its existing outdoor format could not be accommodated at the venue for the foreseeable future.

Cream Team co-founder Jake Camacho told CNA that organisers learnt on 16 October that further outdoor music events would face tighter restrictions. Mapletree said it had passed residents’ concerns to organisers and would ask tenants and licensees to avoid events that might create further disturbance.

ICS challenged allegations about noise levels during Rainbow Disco Club Singapore on 3 and 4 October. The disputed measurements have not been independently verified. The organisers said they had moved their event area away from homes, changed speaker arrangements, added sound barriers and regularly checked decibel levels.

Distripark has been a regular ICS location since 2023, with its events typically drawing between 1,000 and 1,200 people. The collective also lost access to Haw Par Villa after redevelopment began in December 2025.

Camacho told CNA that finding alternatives for sizeable audiences without disturbing residents was becoming harder. ICS said it was exploring locations for 2027 and hoped to return to Distripark.
