Malaysian singer-songwriter Hael Husaini released Selesa at midnight on October 30, with its official music video scheduled to follow at 9pm. Hael wrote and composed the single with Iqie Hugh.

The song centres on unrequited love and accepting that a partner may be happier with someone else. In a statement, Hael said it reflected the sacrifices people make for someone they love, including setting aside their own feelings. He hoped listeners with similar experiences would find companionship in the song as they learnt to let go.

Prialangga, a director based in Jakarta, directed the video, which was filmed entirely in the Indonesian capital. Its cast includes Malaysian actress Anna Jobling and Indonesian actors Antoni Blanco Junior and Mahdy Reza.

Selesa follows Garah, Hael’s collaboration with Mimi Fly. The new track also serves as the main soundtrack for Suamiku Anak Mak, an Astro television drama that premiered on October 26 and features Emma Maembong, Keith Foo and Izzue Islam. Hael is also scheduled to perform in South Korea at the ROUND Festival on November 8, 2026.
