Payments to Malaysian film producers through the Feature Film Screening Incentive (ITFC) totalled RM3,252,091.23 in 2025, a 37.58 per cent increase, according to National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas) chairman Datuk Hans Isaac.

The amount rose from RM2,363,791.41 in 2024, an increase of RM888,299.82. Hans said the number of feature films receiving support also increased, reaching 50 from 44 in 2024.

At a presentation for ITFC 2.0 (Series 2/2026) in Petaling Jaya, Finas distributed RM1,218,259.40 to producers behind six Malaysian titles: Malam Terlarang, Key to Happiness, I'm Not Gangster, Mah's Journey, White and Our Crazy Adventures.

Hans said payments across the two ITFC 2.0 series in 2026 had reached RM1,493,977.90, covering 18 local feature films. He hoped the funding would improve production companies' financial stability and help them plan further projects, while urging recipients to use the public money carefully.

ITFC provides additional support linked to box-office takings for Malaysian filmmakers who satisfy the eligibility requirements of the Compulsory Screening Scheme.
