Louis Tomlinson shares emotional moment at Manila concert
The former One Direction singer performed Night Changes and an acoustic encore during his Oct. 17 show at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Louis Tomlinson told fans he had struggled to regain his composure during several songs at his Oct. 17 concert at Manila’s Smart Araneta Coliseum. The English singer-songwriter thanked the audience for making him feel able to show vulnerability during the Philippine stop of his How Did We Get Here? tour.
Speaking before Jump the Gun, Tomlinson apologised for struggling through the previous four or five songs, starting with Dark to Light. He said performing such a song required bravery and an audience with whom he could feel comfortable.
The concert, presented by Live Nation Philippines, ran for more than two hours. Accompanied by his touring band, he performed One Direction’s Night Changes, which appeared on the group’s 2014 album Four, as fans sang along.
The set also included a stripped-down performance of Foo Fighters’ My Hero. On the concert date, Tomlinson posted a message on X honouring his late former bandmate Liam Payne, a day after the second anniversary of Payne’s death.
After Silver Tongues, Tomlinson briefly left the stage before returning for acoustic performances of The Answer and Miss You. He closed with Palaces. His previous Manila performance was in July 2022.
