GSC to open Mid Valley IMAX cinema on November 5
Godzilla Minus Zero will be the opening film at the upgraded Hall 18, which will feature 4K laser projection and 12-channel sound.

Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) plans to launch an IMAX with Laser cinema at Kuala Lumpur’s Mid Valley Megamall on November 5, 2026. The conversion of Hall 18, its largest auditorium at the mall, will give the operator its second IMAX screen in the Klang Valley.
GSC said the auditorium would have a 4K laser projector and 12-channel audio. The IMAX with Laser format uses RGB laser projection designed to improve image sharpness and colour accuracy compared with conventional systems, together with specialised sound.
The Mid Valley opening follows GSC’s IMAX launch at IOI Mall Damansara on July 16, where Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey was the opening film.
Godzilla Minus Zero is scheduled to inaugurate the new screen on the same date as its Malaysian cinema opening. It follows the 2023 film Godzilla Minus One.
