Finas to open applications for RM15 million creative fund on November 16
Six funding categories cover international film collaborations, first-time filmmakers, micro-dramas and productions involving veteran artistes.

Malaysia’s creative industry players can apply for the RM15 million Creative Content Fund (DKK) from November 16, Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil said. The National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas) will accept applications online.
Speaking to reporters at the Anugerah Seri Angkasa (ASA) 2026 finale, Fahmi said the funding was intended to support international partnerships, help new talent develop and enable veteran artistes to keep producing work. It would also support formats such as micro-dramas for the digital market, he said.
Applicants can seek funding through six categories:
- International Co-Production Fund (Feature Film or Animated Feature)
- First Time Amateur Filmmaker (FAME) Fund
- Super Telefilm TV Programme Co-Production Fund
- Broadcaster/OTT Platform Micro Drama Co-Production Fund
- Veteran Artist Super Telefilm (STAR) Fund
- National Public Service Announcement (PSA) Production Fund
Applications will be handled through the Creative Industry Management and Monitoring System (SPPIK). Fahmi said Finas would publish detailed guidance, eligibility requirements and instructions for applying on its website and social media channels.
At the awards finale at Putrajaya International Convention Centre, Datuk Rahim Razali was honoured with the Tokoh Seri Angkasa lifetime achievement award. Selampai Labung and Generasi: Perfect 10 took the leading television drama honours. Azhan Rani and Noorkhiriah won the main acting awards, while Bade Hj Azmi received the best director award.
