Ghost Mountain cinema debut delayed for technical work
LD Entertainment has not set a replacement date for the Cambodian historical film, which had been scheduled to open nationwide on November 6.

LD Entertainment has delayed the cinema debut of Ghost Mountain, saying technical work is needed to improve its quality. The Cambodian historical film had been promoted for a November 6 nationwide opening, but that date passed without an explanation.
The company said it would give the film a wide release after completing the adjustments, without announcing a new date. Its statement did not link the delay to Cambodia-Thailand relations or indicate that authorities had directed the decision.
Produced and directed by Leak Lyda, Ghost Mountain took more than four years to finish. It adapts The Unforgettable Dangrek Mountains, a memoir by Neak Ohkna Meangly J Quach about his displacement and hardship along the border between Cambodia and Thailand.
The story centres on people who escaped wartime Cambodia for Thailand and were forced back through the Dangrek mountains in 1979, facing steep terrain, landmines and other hazards. Using survivors’ accounts, the film portrays refugees’ deaths, injuries and suffering, with the stated aim of commemorating victims and passing their experiences on to younger generations.
